Double Vision
chapter one


        Setting: Shortly after Mew and Mewtwo team up, (Right after Pokémon: The First Movie) Mew makes a new amulet for Mewtwo, as the first set didn't include one for him. Mew is now telling Mewtwo the story of the amulets.

        Long ago, before any living creature was on this planet, a mew came from another and saw a new opportunity to live in peace, along with his friends. These friends were looking for a place to live without the oppression of the evil masters they had run from. The mew then went to his friends, other species of Pokémon, and told them of his extraordinary find. They then came to this planet and settled in, all the while interbreeding and creating new species. It was not long, however, until humans appeared on the planet. At first, the Pokémon hid, kindly ruled over by that first mew. But soon, the humans discovered the Pokémon. In the beginning, all was well, the humans and Pokémon working together peacefully.
        This did not last long, though, as one human scientist found a way to capture the Pokémon very close to the time of their meeting. Soon, evil men started capturing Pokémon and using them for their own evil purposes. So the mew, getting old and close to death at this time, used the last of his strength to give certain humans, ones with a good heart and good, strong minds and bodies, a special amulet, created from a special piece of a dying Pokémon of each species, which was used to give those humans Pokémon-like abilities and characteristics, so each may protect the species of Pokémon found on the amulet. Each time a new species came about, a new mew, a descendant of the first, would create another amulet, though old ones were never destroyed. And yet, some of these amulets were accidentally placed in the wrong hands, who would cause even more problems for those protecting the Pokémon. Some died or were killed, so the mews had to pass on the amulets to new humans, and sometimes, there were those who received two amulets instead of one. These came to be known as the DUAL AMULET BEARERS. These were so caring or friendly to Pokémon, that they had the strength to protect two Pokémon, enabling them to learn six attacks for each of their Pokémon instead of four.
        'It is now my turn to send out the amulets, and with your help, we can locate the ones worthy of the dual amulets twice as fast. There seem to be many this generation, I saw three at your lookout.'
        'Of course I will help, but let's save them for later. Let's get started.'

        "What's this?" stated Drel as he looked out the window. He suddenly found two Pokémon in a wild Pokémon battle. The two were a Jolteon and a Gyarados, both incredibly strong. At the same time, on the other side of the apartment building, where his girlfriend Rose was studying in her room, a Blastoise and Ponyta were standing just outside the door but no one seemed to notice. When these four noticed the two humans watching either set, they came in and gave that one an amulet with their carving on it, and immediately disappeared. The two, almost not believing their eyes, put on the amulets, and heard strange words, like thoughts in their mind.
        These said, 'Pack your things, and leave by the back door. This way you will not be bothered. Also say goodbye to your families, as you will not see them for a very, long time.'
        They met each other out back, and ran off to the woods together, as those strange voices said, Move to the woods to train in your new abilities and we will explain all when we get there.'

        At the other end of the continent, a dark minded young man named Tengu stumbled over another amulet. Only one, but it was a Mewtwo.

TWO YEARS LATER

        "Go Squirtle!" As usual Ash was in a Pokémon battle. He was fighting Gary, again, but this time was different. Instead of fighting as rivals, they were training as partners and friends. You see, they had both finished their journeys to become Pokémon masters, and had come out as equals, and so became partners.
        Today wasn't much different. That was why Gary didn't hesitate to tell Ash about the new necklaces he saw in Squirtle's hands. Squirtle then handed one to Ash and another to Gary. Interested, they each checked their other Pokémon, to see if there were more. There were, this time on Bulbasaur and pikachu. Ash was able to get the one off pikachu, but Bulbasaur refused to give his up. As if on cue, Brock and Misty came in. Bulbasaur then took the amulet in his teeth, walked to Brock, and gave him the necklace. Startled, Brock and Misty checked their Pokémon. They found two, one with Starmie and the other with Vulpix. These both went to Misty. When put on, they gave comfort as well as directions.
        'You will find two more soon. For now, give away your things, and let all the Pokémon you have go into the wild except the one you are most attached to. This one leave out of it's Pokéball. Then go into the woods and rest. We will tell you everything there.'

                                  *Flashback*
        "Ouch," Claire said annoyed as she snatched at the thing she had hit her head on. She went to throw it away, but stopped when she noticed the carving on the front. It was a Fearow.
                                *End flashback*
        That was only a day ago. She had already been wandering alone for a while, about a month when this happened. So she wasn't startled when it told her to go off somewhere and leave everything behind. She immediately got up and started off.

        Faith. Yet another who found an amulet. Hers had the carving of a Kadabra on it and it was a deep brown. She had come to this place, some kind of convention, about three days ago. Someone or something had told her she needed new clothes, so she went and found the clothing booth. She soon picked out a deep black pair of jeans and a jet black T-shirt which complimented her slim figure nicely. It was here that she met Claire, only just out of the Pokémon center, she had collapsed out of exhaustion from her long restless walk, and soon became very good friends.

        Jessie, James, and Meowth. Recently fired from Team Rocket after failing so many times to capture a strong Pokémon and looking for something new. What they find, though, isn't what they expected.
        A Persian comes streaking at Meowth, cutting his throat and leaving him for dead. Next, the Persian melts. When it solidifies, al that is left of it are two strange necklaces, one a Persian, and the other a mew. Jessie picks up the the Persian and runs off, fast. Then James picks up the mew amulet and walks slowly in a slightly different direction.

        Still at either end of the country, Drel and Rose on one end, Tengu on the other, the three are just waking up, are all thinking the same thing.
                'The day has finally arrived.'
